VSE Running Club

The Valley Springs Running Group will be up and running soon!  Any VSE student is welcome to join us on Wednesday and Friday at 7:45-8:00 AM to jog (walk, run, jog...).  Please wear "sneakers" and comfortable clothes.  You may leave coats and backpacks by the gym door.  Runners run at their own pace to music and collect a straw after each lap.  At 8:00 AM, they count straws and  I record them.  I log the distance on my computer.

Help your child at home...

Shoe laces are my nemesis-and your child's nemesis as well! Here are some tips to help you work with your child on shoe-tying skills at home! Please DO NOT double-knot their shoes at home. They cannot untie the knot and it makes transitions to boots difficult.

Heavy Work

"Heavy work is any type of activity that pushes or pulls against the body. Heavy work activities can help kids with sensory processing issues feel centered. Heavy work  engages a sense called proprioception, or body awareness."
